María Ruiz is one of the most recognised voices in contemporary singer-songwriter music in Spain. Born in Alicante and based in Madrid for more than a decade, she has built a solid and coherent career that has taken her to stages across the country and to numerous countries in Latin America, becoming a leading figure in the new singer-songwriter movement with a social and feminist perspective.
Since the release of Metamorfosis (2015), followed by El vuelo (2019) and Deshielo (2022), María Ruiz has developed her own artistic universe where poetry, commitment and emotion come together. Her songs explore themes such as memory, social justice, relationships, feminism and the defence of collective life, always through delicate and deeply human songwriting.
In 2025, she celebrated a decade of her career with the special tour and project 10 Años de Canciones, a journey of celebration and gratitude that brought together some of her most emblematic compositions and collaborations with like-minded artists such as Rozalén, Chambao, Pedro Pastor, Mocchi and Noelia Morgana. The tour culminated in South America after hundreds of concerts and ten years of sharing music with an ever-growing and loyal audience.
In autumn 2026, she will present La tregua, her fourth studio album. A record that invites us to pause, to listen to what happens when we turn our gaze inward, and to reclaim tenderness as a form of resistance in turbulent times. Returning to the organic sounds that define her artistic essence, María Ruiz offers an intimate, honest and moving live performance, where words take centre stage and each song becomes a space for connection with the audience.
La tregua confirms the artistic maturity of an essential songwriter who has turned song into a refuge, a space for reflection and a collective embrace. A proposal capable of moving, inspiring and building community through sensitivity, beauty and commitment.
