Balkumbia is a multicultural project born in Barcelona that, from the Catalan capital to the world, brings together musicians from diverse backgrounds to create a vibrant and deeply festive sonic experience.
Under the motto “danceable fusion of migrant rhythms,” the band presents a show that invites the audience to journey through the celebrations and cultural roots of different continents through music.
Their repertoire combines original compositions with versions of popular songs, generating a dynamic dialogue between the familiar and the foreign, between tradition and contemporaneity. The result is a unique, energetic, and cross-cutting sound that turns every concert into a true collective celebration.
With more than 300 performances in 16 countries across Europe and Latin America, Balkumbia has taken the stage in several European countries, Colombia, Mexico, and Chile. Their trajectory also includes collaborations and shared stages with internationally renowned artists such as Balkan Beat Box, Chico Trujillo, and Manu Chao.
To date, they have released three albums —Balkumbia (2016), Volume 2 (2017), and Mala Suerte (2022)— and are currently working on their fourth record, scheduled for release in the second half of 2026.
Balkumbia is, in essence, a musical journey that celebrates diversity, movement, and fusion: an open invitation to dance, connect, and embrace the migrant rhythms of the world.
